This song was made with a good friend back in the summer of 1998. We were messing around with Impulse Tracker, a software relic used to create digital multi-track music. You’d gather together short sound samples, create loop points so you could play a note indefinitely, and then key in notes and modulation data to play the samples throughout the song at different pitches. It was a very programmatic way to create music, and there were some amazing electronic tunes created this way back in the day. We tried something different, more of a ballad, to enter into an online music contest. I personally wouldn’t want to create music this way again, but listening to this brings back fond memories of that summer of 1998.
